50 Years of Pest Control in Zululand

The real pioneers of Pest Control in Zululand, Zululand Pest Control, was established in 1969 and in 2019 we celebrate our fiftieth birthday and anniversary of providing pest control services to Empangeni, Richards Bay and the surrounding areas. The below is taken from a blog on the myzululand.co.za website and edited.

Clive and Beverly Getkate first opened ZPC’s doors (from garage and a room in their home) in Empangeni fifty years ago, seeking to meet the demand in Zululand for effective pest control, through reliable service. As the saying goes ‘never despise small beginnings’, they faithfully started off with just one assistant and vehicle.

Fifty years down the line, the legacy continues through their son Nevill Getkate (since March 2002), ZPC is the experienced and trusted service provider that it is today, (with larger premises, more vehicles and plenty qualified staff) not having compromised on any of their values.

These values include:
    •    Integrity
    •    Reputation
    •    Fair Pricing
    •    Reliability
    •    Punctuality
    •    Training
    •    Efficient products and techniques

Nevill and his experienced team, offer a full range of pest control solutions for industrial, domestic and commercial markets.

If you’re looking at buying a home, or premises of any kind… it would do you well to take heed of Nevill’s knowledge below, lest you find yourself living with unwanted tenants who will destroy your home or office and cost you more than you budgeted for.

Nevill is a qualified WDO (Wood Destroying Organisms) Inspector, which should be a requirement for the issuing of the Entomologist Certificate. This certificate is a requirement if you are buying or selling a property.  If you are the purchaser, you have the right to insist that a qualified & certified WDO Inspector provides you with the Entomologist certificate giving you peace of mind when moving into your new property.

With your best interest at heart, he urges that that you ensure that a qualified pest control company (such as ZPC) is appointed, to inspect and certify that the property is not inhabited by Wood Destroying Organisms/Insects such as Subterranean Termites or Woodborer. In addition to the Entomologist Certificate, ZPC most certainly has all the other required qualifications as well as registered with the relevant organisations, such as the Department of Agriculture & Fisheries and SAPCA (South African Pest Control Association). They obviously have insurance, as well as 50 years of experience (oh did we already mention that?). Any queries, any at all, give them a call.

Cue song… ‘when then there’s something strange, in your neighbourhood, who you gonna call?!’
